Claire’s Ultrasound
We went to get our official Ultrasound today. Brooke has been so excited about getting it. Yesterday morning she was literally bouncing around the apartment saying things like “I LOVE THURSDAYS”. (Thursday is the day we got the ultrasound) Anyways it was really fun and exciting. They say that it is for sure a girl. We weren’t able to see her face much because she had her hands in front of her the whole time. That just confirms the fact that she is a girl because as we all know girls are notorious for not coming out until they are good and ready.
They say that everything is going great and Claire is right where they expect her to be which makes me feel a lot better. Our sister in law Heather is going through some tough circumstances with her pregnancy and it really made me worry.
If you watch the video you will see they measure her femur bone which is only 3cm! That is only one inch! That means her legs are like little baby carrots! She weighs about 9 ounces.
Who Knew?!
Apparently even when you’re pregnant, you can still be baby hungry. There are times when I just CAN’T WAIT to snuggle our baby!!! She’s definitely not going to be deprived in the cuddling/kissing department with me and Tyler around…not to mention her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends!!!
Crib!
My Mom took me shopping a couple days ago to get some maternity clothes. I LOVE them, by the way! So comfortable! Anyway, she also met me at Babies R Us to pick up the rocking chair we got since it wouldn’t fit in our little car. We got home and Tyler and my Mom carried it up the stairs. Tyler did some rearranging while we were gone, so he said, “Here, come back to the room and let me know where you think we should put the chair.” So I walk back there and as soon as I get to the doorway I gasp and give Tyler a big hug. He had set up the crib while we were gone! I was thinking we’d set it up in a few months…he definitely surprised me! We’ve still got about 5 months to go, but I love it! And oh boy that rocking chair is so comfy. I keep teasing Tyler that we are probably going to fight over who gets to put the baby to sleep because the chair is so comfy!
Carly and Cody
On New Year’s Eve, Tyler and I went to Cody’s house. While we were there I took some pictures of Cody and Carly. I’m not even close to a professional, I just enjoy taking pictures. I picked a bad time of day to take them, too. The lighting made it difficult to get good shots. But we managed to get a few! Thanks guys for letting me take so many pictures!!!
- Smoochy heart
- They need to work on their heart shape a little bit :)
- “I believe I can fly!”
- Tyler wanted to be part of the shoot
- Wedding invitation picture?
After the (cold) photo shoot, we played games and ate yummy food. By 10:30 I was ready for bed, so Tyler and I drove home and went to bed. LAME! I know! But I just didn’t care about midnight that night. I just wanted to go to bed!
Special Delivery!
Probably most people who read this blog already know…but we’re PREGNANT!!! We found out a few days before our anniversary, which was so fun and exciting! We told my family right away but had to wait to tell Tyler’s family at Thanksgiving because we wanted to tell them in person. That was tough, but so fun and I’m glad we waited. Over the last couple weeks we’ve been telling extended family, friends, coworkers and people at church. It makes it a little bit more real to have people know about it for some reason! Also over the past couple weeks I’ve started to show, which also makes it more real. We’ve been to the doctor twice and heard the heartbeat twice, which is so incredible, and at the first appointment we got to see the little blob (that’s pretty much what it looked like!)-also so incredible! I can’t wait until my 20 week appointment so we can see it again…and find out if its a Tyler or Brooke Jr! I’m due June 10…yup 5 days before Carly’s wedding! Oh boy! I’m just hoping I have the baby right on time, or even a few days early! (Keep your fingers crossed) I would be so sad if I had to miss my sister’s wedding. I’ve been very blessed and lucky to really not be sick much at all. We are so excited (and sometimes slightly terrified) for this new member of our family to come into our lives. Sometimes I just put my hand on my belly and can’t believe how much I already love our little baby. I can’t imagine how much more in love I’ll be when he or she comes!
Jingle Bell Run
Carly, my mom and I ran (ok slowly jogged) a 5k last Saturday called the Jingle Bell Run. It was for arthritis, which Carly has. I was so glad it was a nice day. It wasn’t cold or windy or snowy. The route was flat, and apparently closer to 2 1/2 miles rather than a full 5k. We were talking about how it didn’t seem to be bad, and this guy that had a gps watch thing on his wrist told us it was short. Oh well, I’m not complaining! We all had jingle bells tied to our shoes and wore some funky socks. I’m glad Carly wanted to do this because it got me exercising.
