My amazing friend Brittney took some pictures for us.  These are a few of my favorites.  I’m about 35 weeks in these pictures.

Millcreek Canyon

May 17th, 2012

Talk about a hill. Millcreek Canyon is by far the steepest and longest hill I’ve climbed so far. Dennis invited me this last Sunday and we decided to go on Wednesday. It has a pretty steep beginning and then it is somewhat gradual for a while and then it goes through a never ending series of steep and semi steep hills. It was pretty though and it kind of reminded me of home because of all the pine trees lining the road. I’m feeling it today though lets hope I get stronger so I can eventually do it without stopping.

50 no 60 MILES!

May 5th, 2012

I was planning on going 50 miles with Brooke’s Dad today but we ended up going 60! Crazy and I’m exhausted and my legs are completely spent. But we averaged the speed I wanted to and we did it! Once we got on the island we found there was a race going on which was kind of interesting. So we were riding along the racers at different points. I should say the racers passed us or rather passed me at different points and Dennis was nice enough to wait for me every now and then. It was a great ride! I really liked riding on the island since there was rolling hills which provided a nice variety instead of going on completely flat or straight up and down.

Just Call Him Doctor Todd

May 5th, 2012

Yep, my brother is a doctor now! He graduated from Pharmacy School at the U yesterday! It was fun to be there and see him get his diploma. Him and his family have worked so hard the last 4+ years to get to this point, it must be so exciting/relieving for them to be done! Great job, Brother, I’m so proud of you! We went to eat at this Italian Pizza restaurant called Settebello afterward to celebrate. It was delicious, I definitely recommend it! Oh and I can’t forget to mention that after the yummy pizza, we had some yummy gelato! Eating there made us miss all the gelato places we went to in Rome.

Big Mountain bike ride!

April 28th, 2012

Last week I went 40 miles but it was all flat. This week I decided to try to do close to the same distance but over hills. Correction mountains! So I went up emigration and then down to the reservoir and then up to the crest of Big Mountain which is right at the border of Morgan County. I was feeling pretty good to start off and even after emigration I was feeling good. Then on the way to Big Mountain I kept getting closer where I knew the summit was but I hadn’t climbed any. I started to realize that meant I was in for a steep uphill and steep it was. I just got my new speedometer today which tells me %grade of the hill I’m on. The last 3 miles were 6-9% grade. For comparison emigration is mostly 3-5% grade and I thought that was a hill. Also being at the midway point my legs were pretty tired so even in some brief 4-5% spots I couldn’t keep the speed I did up emigration. Another thing is it was cold! brrrrr! The higher I got the colder it got. I didn’t end up staying long at the top because it was so cold. Going down was a ton of fun but I was even colder by that point. Anyways all and all it was a fun and challenging ride but I think next week I’m doing flat again.

If you look to the right a bit you can see in the distance the valley. That is where I came from.

For those interested here is a map of where I went.

Caught Claire on film!

April 28th, 2012

Brooke and I have been wanting to catch Claire for quite some time although this is the first time we got her! It was kind of funny because every time we would poke put our hands to feel her she would move away.

Snuggle Time!

April 27th, 2012

Lucy snuggling with Uncle Tyler.  So cute!  Crazy to think that in a short time that’ll be our own little girl snuggling with her daddy!  She can’t get here fast enough!
